The Collection of Robert Isabell

For more than two decades, celebrated event planner Robert Isabell was sought after for the elegant, creative touch he lent to events ranging from lavish galas and society weddings to White House Christmases and magazine launches. Famed for crafting events that captured the spirit and personality of each of his clients, Isabell did the same in his personal space. His townhouse, located in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of Manhattan, reflected his spectacular taste, strong interest in 20th Century Design and meticulous eye for detail. Isabell seamlessly married important pieces by American studio designers such as Harry Bertoia, Paul Evans and Phillip Lloyd Powell with those by the French masters of the mid-century including Jean Prouvé, Charlotte Perriand and Serge Mouille.
